Pakistan is home to some of the most prestigious engineering universities in South Asia, with three of them being listed in the world’s top 500. Here are 10 of the most well-known engineering universities in Pakistan that you should be considering when looking to study engineering abroad.

1) National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST)

NUST is considered to be among one of the best universities in all of Pakistan. The main campus is situated near Islamabad and several smaller campuses are located throughout Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar and Quetta. This prestigious university was ranked number 19th overall on QS Asian University Rankings 2014-2015. It has a strong reputation for research and innovation, with a focus on engineering, science and technology-based subjects. According to UIS data from 2012/2013, over 6200 students were enrolled at NUST’s undergraduate level alone. 4) Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology (GIKI)

GIKI is situated on a sprawling 500-acre campus and is located 15 kilometers from Peshawar City. It was established in 1998, with a vision to be among top engineering universities worldwide.
